Sermon April 5, 2026
Jesus is risen, as affirmed by all four Gospels through the empty cross, empty tomb, and empty grave clothes. The resurrection is not just an event but the cause that leads to the effect—“Fear not.” The resurrection of our Lord Jesus addresses four major human fears: Fear of Loneliness: The risen Jesus comes to His disciples in their fear and isolation and promises, “I am with you always.” Believers are never alone; they are part of a new community in Christ. Fear of Guilt and Failure: Through the cross and resurrection, sins are forgiven and there is no condemnation. Failures are not final, as seen in the disciples’ restoration and renewed purpose. Fear of the Future: Though life is uncertain, the risen Christ assures hope and guidance. Because He lives, believers can face the future with confidence, knowing He walks with them. Fear of Death: The resurrection declares victory over death. Its sting is removed, and for believers, death is not the end but the doorway to eternal life. Because Jesus is risen, fear has no power. Therefore, Christians are called to live in confidence, peace, and joy, trusting in the presence and promises of the risen Lord.
