Engage – Raising Kids and Social Media

ENGAGE: 5 PRACTICAL LESSONS FOR RAISING YOUR KIDS IN A SOCIAL MEDIA GENERATION

Raising children in a tech-obsessed social media world is tough. What limits do you put on it? Is it safe? Why can’t kids just put their phones down? I am sure, we as parents are going through this very scenario on a daily basis. We are called the “pioneer parents”. We are probably the first-generation parents that are navigating the raising of a digital native.

In early 2018, Kirk Cameron did a movie called CONNECT, which introduced families to experts that have been navigating this world for some time. It really resonated and the feedback was amazing! So they created “Engage” to allow parents to go deeper. It is packed with practical, rich guidance on how to approach the problem and the solutions. The movie is a great place for the whole family to start. This course is a great place for parents to dig deeper (although you’re not required to see the movie to take the course).

RightNow media (Trinity Church has a lifetime membership, used by many and cell groups as well ) has released this new course called “Engage”, which is a five-lesson, practical course hosted by Kirk Cameron (American actor from “Growing pains”) that will help you navigate parenting in a social media age. The course “Engage” gives you access to what they couldn’t fit into the film as well as offer practical advice on how to take what you see and apply it to you and your children. Packed with expert interviews, a hands-on study, resource guide, and downloadable tool too.

So, what do we do with this? Would you like to come together with other parents for 5 evenings after the summer to do this course?

My prayer is that this five-lesson course will help us understand the problem better, understand our children better, and then give us tangible help in order to navigate the complicated world of technology and social media that our children are growing up in.
