Sunday at Trinity was nothing short of extraordinary as our congregation gathered for a deeply moving service. After enduring the challenges of the pandemic, our community celebrated a significant milestone: the first full immersion baptisms at Trinity in what felt like ages. Five individuals made the courageous decision to take this profound step in their faith journey, marking a new chapter in their lives.
Among those baptised were three teenagers, including a pair of sisters, as well as a father and his adult son. Each shared their heartfelt testimonies, revealing two common themes: the acknowledgment that true growth in faith requires the support of a loving community; and that our faithful God never leaves us even if we don’t always recognise His presence. Their words resonated deeply, reminding us all that we are not meant to walk this path alone, but rather to journey together, uplifting and encouraging one another along the way.
Even our youngest members, the children of Kidzchurch, were front and centre to witness this powerful display of commitment and devotion. As they observed the baptisms, they too were reminded of the importance of faith and community in their own lives.
Following the baptisms, Harrison delivered a poignant message on the essence of discipleship—what it truly means to deny oneself, take up the cross, and follow Jesus. His words challenged and inspired us all to reflect on our own faith journeys and the sacrifices we are called to make in service to a greater purpose.
As we left the service that day, hearts were full and spirits lifted, invigorated by the powerful testimonies, wonderful songs of praise and message of hope. It was a reminder that, even in the face of adversity, our faith community remains strong, united in our shared commitment to know Jesus Christ and make Him known, whilst being supporting one another every step of the way. Of course, true to Trinity church, this wonderful celebration was followed with a delicious shared lunch.
