September Youth Service Recap: Discovering Our Identity in Christ

Last week, our Youth Service brought an evening of worship, fellowship, and powerful reflection as we explored the theme: Our Identity in Christ. It was a time for our young people to dive deep into what God says about who we truly are, shaking off the labels the world tries to place on us and embracing the truth of our identity in Him.

We kicked things off with an ice breaker game, setting the perfect tone for what was to come. With hearts prepared, we moved into a time of worship, lifting our voices together in praise and centering ourselves on God’s presence.

A Powerful Message: What Does God Say About Us?

The heart of the service was a thought-provoking message centered around how God defines us—not by our past, our mistakes, or the opinions of others, but by His eternal love and purpose for our lives. As the message unfolded, our youth were challenged to think about the labels they’ve placed on themselves or had others place on them.

In a powerful moment of reflection, each person was invited to write down a false word or statement that had believed about themselves; place those thoughts into a pot as a symbol of letting go of those false identities, the pot was set on fire, and don’t worry—safety measures were fully in place! Watching those slips of paper burn was a visual reminder of how God invites us to surrender our old selves and embrace the new identity we have in Christ. It was a moving and freeing experience for everyone present.

Fellowship and Fun: Mexican carnitas, Waffles, and Laughter

After the service, the evening continued as we gathered for a delicious dinner of homemade Mexican carnitas followed by waffles with cream for dessert! It was the perfect ending to a meaningful night, as conversations flowed.

What’s Next?
Our Youth Service wasn’t just an event—it was a powerful reminder that we are loved, valued, and purposed by God. We are already looking forward to the next youth gathering, where we will continue to grow in faith, fellowship, and fun together

To our youth: Remember, your identity is in Christ, and He will always remain good and faithful! Keep coming back, bringing your friends, and joining us as we continue this journey of discovering who we are in Him.
