This year’s Elderly Christmas Dinner at our church was a success, filled with warmth, laughter, and a true sense of community. Organized and hosted by the Lighthouse Small Group, the event brought together members of the church to celebrate the joy of the season and honor the elderly in our congregation.
A Feast to Remember
The evening began with a sumptuous spread of festive dishes, carefully prepared to delight the taste buds. From traditional roast meats and hearty vegetables to a delightful array of desserts, the food was a testament to the love and care poured into the event. The elders were visibly touched by the effort, and many commented on how special the meal made them feel.
The Gift of Music
Adding to the magic of the evening was the music, performed by both children and adults from the Lighthouse Cell Group. They sang classic Christmas carols and brought smiles to everyone’s faces. The children’s did a wonderful job in narrating a Christmas story and Oliver and the team led us in singing as well.
A Celebration of Community
The Lighthouse Small Group’s dedication to making the evening special shone through every detail, from the beautifully decorated tables to the warm, personalized welcome each guest received. The group’s children also helped hand out small gifts, bringing extra joy to the elders and spreading the festive cheer.
As the evening came to a close, many of our wise men and women shared their gratitude.
Looking Ahead
The success of this year’s dinner is a testament to the power of community and the impact we can have when we come together to serve others. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who contributed to the evening’s success, especially the Lighthouse Small Group for their inspiring leadership.
As we move forward, may the spirit of this evening continue to guide us in our efforts to connect, support, and uplift one another. Here’s to many more such heartwarming celebrations in the future!
