‘Keep your eyes on Justice’ is the theme for the Week of Prayer this year. This week will take place from the 20th to the 27th of January. The theme is closely related to the call for justice as we find it in the Bible, in the Book of Deuteronomy; it is chosen by the churches in Indonesia. The churches in Indonesia find it very important to look at justice as a base for unity. In their country they have experienced how injustice can cause division and exclusivity. Originally their society was characterised by cooperation and solidarity.
The central Bible text for the Week of Prayer comes from Deuteronomy, chapter 16, verses 10 to 20.
